Acceptable Use Policy (AUP)
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the acceptable and unacceptable uses of ButterflyCloud’s services and network infrastructure. This policy is part of ButterflyCloud’s Terms of Service and applies to all users, customers, and anyone accessing our services.
ButterflyCloud is committed to maintaining a safe, reliable, and high-performance hosting environment. This AUP is designed to prevent abuse, protect our customers, and ensure the integrity of our services.
The following activities are strictly prohibited and may result in the suspension or termination of your account, legal action, or both:
Hosting or distributing content that violates local, national, or international laws.
Using our services to commit or promote illegal acts.
Hosting, distributing, or linking to viruses, ransomware, spyware, or other malicious software.
Phishing, spoofing, or impersonating other individuals or organizations.
Scanning or probing network systems (e.g., port scanning, vulnerability scanning) without authorization.
Sending unsolicited bulk emails ("spam").
Operating mailing lists that do not comply with anti-spam laws (e.g., CAN-SPAM, GDPR).
Using purchased or harvested email lists.
Performing denial-of-service (DoS or DDoS) attacks.
Using excessive bandwidth, CPU, or storage that interferes with service quality.
Intentionally overloading the network or infrastructure.
Hosting copyrighted materials without permission (pirated software, music, movies, etc.).
Violating trademarks, patents, or trade secrets.
Hosting pornography or sexually explicit material.
Operating escort services, adult dating, or similar content.
(ButterflyCloud may allow limited adult content under strict compliance — please inquire directly.)
Promoting or glorifying hate, violence, terrorism, racism, or discrimination.
Threats of harm or harassment toward individuals or groups.
Running cryptocurrency mining scripts or software without explicit permission.
Operating proxy services, VPNs (By insecure or unencrypted means), Public proxies (VMESS, etc) is allowed
You are responsible for securing your server, website, and data. This includes:
Keeping all software, CMSs, and plugins updated.
Using strong, secure passwords.
Monitoring for unauthorized access or unusual activity.
Negligent behavior that results in abuse (e.g., hosting a hacked site spreading malware) may result in service suspension.
ButterflyCloud has zero tolerance for:
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Content that exploits or harms minors.
Platforms used for trafficking, stalking, or illegal surveillance.
Discovery of such content or activity will result in immediate termination and reporting to authorities.
If using ButterflyCloud to send email, you must:
Have opt-in consent from recipients.
Include an easy opt-out method.
Use accurate headers and contact information.
Not send deceptive or fraudulent emails.
To maintain fair access, we enforce reasonable resource usage:
Shared hosting users may not exceed fair usage thresholds (e.g., 10% CPU for extended periods).
Accounts consuming excessive bandwidth or disk I/O may be contacted or limited.
Abusers of shared environments may be suspended or required to upgrade to a VPS or dedicated server.
